Explore Vermont through your tastebuds.
To truly experience Vermont, you need to taste it, sip it, and explore it. Stop by a farm, meander through a farmers market, taste your way through our world class and award-winning beer and cheese, enjoy farm-to-table eateries, visit an apple orchard and pick your own fruit. Vermont Fresh Network's public facing work encourages consumers to purchase from local farms and prioritize restaurants and other Vermont businesses that have ongoing relationships with Vermont farmers.
This is part of our broader effort to to bridge connections between Vermont farms and consumers by educating the public about food production on a Vermont scale Through special events, member profiles, food and farm experiences, presentations and other activities, we are working in support of a more connected and sustainable food system. We look for new ways for food producers, artisans, and chefs to share their stories, build partnerships, and reach new markets.
We support and develop the culinary tourism and agritourism industry (aka food and farm experiences) through events, technical assistance resources and our management of the collaborative marketing platform DigInVT.com. Through DigInVT, we develop programming and storytelling that supports the 550+ farms, restaurants, and producer businesses which help visitors and travelers access authentic food and farm experiences across the state. All the places and people on DigInVT bring you the best of the season and the best of Vermont to explore and discover. The DigInVT platform was developed ito help visitors explore beyond their borders and we have seen first hand how collaborative marketing and collective action contribute to thriving communities.
We collaborate with a variety of businesses, public sector agencies, and producer associations in Vermont’s food and farm sector that make up the DigInVT partnership***, to develop cross-organizational seasonal marketing campaigns and projects that support our vision of agritourism as a meaningful and important contributor to Vermont's rural economies.
