Guide to Setting up your VFN Account and Using the Member Portal and Directory

jessie • November 15, 2024

In case you missed it...VFN has a new website! Thanks to some funding from a Specialty Crop Block Grant through the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets, we've been working hard to make our online presence better match the vibrancy of Vermont's food and farm community. Check out our industry work and public-facing programming, learn about our organization and history, view our events calendar and blog, and explore our member directory!

As a part of this project, we've also implemented a new membership management system, which makes it easier for our members to access VFN resources and benefits, submit events to the industry events calendar, share your news and updates with our team, and more.

VFN members - this blog post is intended to serve as a guide to help you set up your account in VFN's new system, and explore and access your members-only resources and the member business-to-business directory.

Setting up your member account

VFN members - click here to set up your VFN account

(see below for steps and screenshots to help guide you through the process)

Troubleshooting tips:

  • We have connected an email address with all member accounts, but it may be a different one than you use when attempting to log in (e.g., we may have your member account linked to an info@ email address for your organization, vs. a personal email address that you primarily use). After following the above steps, if you don't receive an email to set up your password, it's probably because we have a different one in your account than the one you attempted to use.
  • We've also only linked accounts for current, up-to-date members, so if you're unable to set up an account it may be because your membership has lapsed.
  • If you encounter any of these issues or have any other problems setting up your account, contact info@vermontfresh.net - we're here to help!

Exploring the Member Portal

Once you are logged into your account, you'll see the members-only portal with options to manage your membership (and even sign up for auto-renewals), access resources, submit events to the industry events calendar, pitch us a story, update your information, check your membership status and renew your membership, and more!

Updating your information and using the Business-to-Business Directory

The new VFN member directory allows you to log into your member account and update your local purchasing information at any time, and search for partners based on their own product availability, location, and purchasing status.

We've done our best to ensure everyone's information is accurate and up-to-date, but sometimes data gets a little wonky in the shift from one system to another. Please log into your account to make sure everything looks right for your business!

It's important to keep your own information up to date, so you show up in other members' searches and can connect with partners that align with your needs!

During one special evening, the Vermont Fresh Network brings together some of Vermont's best chefs, farmers, food producers, and specialty food makers to create a sensational meal at the Shelburne Farms Coach Barn, on the shores of Lake Champlain. It is a celebration of the best food of summer, and VFN's largest fundraiser. The Forum allows us showcase the incredible talents of the Network - dedicated food producers sharing and celebrating Vermont-grown ingredients. On Sunday, July 21, we came back for our 26th year. Thank you to each and every one of our participating chefs, artisans, farmers, beverage makers, sponsors, VFN staff members, board members, the Shelburne Farms staff, silent auction donors, prize donors, photographers, volunteers, and guests who made this year's dinner such a memorable and magical evening.
