Your Guide to a Local Thanksgiving - DO

Think local both on and after your Thanksgiving day - take your family out for an adventure: go visit a farm, see cheese being made or visit a Vermont vineyard or distillery.

Featured Activities: 

Burelli Farm, Berlin: Visit the farm at 199 Burelli Farm Drive any day of the week for a superb shopping experience and a chance to see our animals and beautiful landscape.

Boyden Valley Winery, Cambridge and Waterbury: The Winery in Cambridge will be open every day from 10am-5pm except Thanksgiving Day (11/26) for Tastings, shopping, and wine by the glass. Our Tasting Annex at Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Waterbury will be open every day except Thanksgiving Day from 11am-5pm for Tastings and shopping. Beautiful gift boxes to suit any budget will also be available at both locations.

Caledonia Spirits Distillery, Hardwick: The distillery is open for tours and tastings 7 days a week through December 31st from 12-5. Offering FREE tours and tastings and the opportunity to purchase our full line of craft spirits. Buy 2 bottles, get a free glass! Check out their site online.

Fat Toad Farm, Brookfield: Stop by our self-serve farm store in Brookfield, VT from 10am-4pm on Sunday, November 29th! 

Green Mountain Girls Farm, Northfield: Offering farm tours by appointment all weekend! Visit for more info.

The Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center, Newport: Sip a sweet ice cider at The Tasting Bar, savor a sticky maple treat from the Maple Shop, enjoy fresh breads and pastries from Jocelyn & Cinta's Bake Shop, or sit and grab a bite at the Newport Ciderhouse Bar & Grill. It's all good, and it's all local! The NEK Tasting Center is dedicated to featuring and supporting Northeast Kingdom farmers and producers. 

Shelburne Farms, Shelburne: Visit and shop at the welcome center then walk the trails and enjoy estate and waterfront views. More information here.

Wineries and Distilleries across Vermont can be found on - unwind with a glass of Vermont grown wine or a craft cocktail after a hectic holiday.
