VFN Welcomes Community National Bank as Affiliate Partner

March 14, 2023

We’re thrilled to welcome Community National Bank as a new Affiliate Partner of Vermont Fresh Network!

Our Affiliate Members pledge to support our work to strengthen the local food system through chef, farmer and food producer partnerships.

“Since 1851, Community National Bank has always been about supporting and serving our local community,” said Tracy Roberts, Community National Bank’s Vice President and Marketing Director. “This falls directly in line with Vermont Fresh Network’s (VFN’s) goals of connecting local farmers and food producers with chefs, restaurants and other venues looking to serve fresh local ingredients.”

Known as “Vermont’s Community Bank,” Community National Bank was founded in 1851 in Derby Line, VT and now has 12 retail locations throughout Orleans, Essex, Caledonia, Washington, Franklin and Lamoille counties, as well as loan production offices in Chittenden County and in Grafton County, NH.

“The synergy that VFN has created is exciting, and offers great opportunities for all of its members,” Roberts said. “The partnerships created are also significant in terms of strengthening our local economy.”

As a longstanding institution in the state of Vermont, Community National Bank has a long history of supporting community development efforts throughout Vermont, and was ranked the number one bank in Vermont by Forbes in 2022. They’ve won several awards for their involvement in and support of Vermont communities, including the Governor's Award for Outstanding Community Service in 2002, the USDA Rural Development Lender of the Year Award in 2005-2006, and the Vermont SBA Third Party Lender of the Year Award in 2013.

“Community National Bank is proud to support VFN so they can continue to make and strengthen all of their valuable connections,” Roberts said.

Vermont Fresh Network is grateful for the support of Community National Bank in our efforts to connect chefs, farmers, and producers around Vermont.
