What does VFN provide for your business?

 

Membership in VFN gives you access to a broad and deep network of like-minded chefs, farmers and food producers. The network provides you with information, ideas, experiences, and camaraderie born of a shared vision with other Vermont food professionals. Membership also provides marketing opportunities based on a shared commitment to supporting local food and agriculture. 

  • Brand recognition with our iconic sign and logo, which signify a demonstrated commitment to local purchasing and partnerships between farmers and chefs. Members receive a tin sign and window decal, along with access to digital materials. Culinary members in the highest 25% of local purchasing additionally receive Gold Barn recognition.

  • Listing and features on DigInVT.com - a collaborative website marketing Vermont's agricultural and culinary tourism. Promotion through marketing initiatives managed by the DigInVT partnership.

  • Listing on VermontFresh.Net and in our members-only business to business directory (to be published in spring 2018).  

  • Members discount pricing on tickets and registration fees for VFN sponsored events, including our Annual Forum Dinner and Annual Meeting.

  • Invitations to be featured in special programs, including our Annual Forum Dinner, which showcases some of the best food in Vermont every August in the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms.

  • Featured stories and event listing in the bi-weekly Fresh Feed e-newsletter, social media promotions, and coverage in traditional media. Starting in 2018, the Fresh Feed will expand its audience to include subscribers via DigInVT.

  • Professional development and networking opportunities, including the VFN Annual Meeting, webinar series, Farmer/Chef Matchmaking events, and regional networking events.

  • Opportunities to participate in special projects that build markets for Vermont products - in 2017 we managed a grant-funded project focusing on Lake Champlain Fish, in 2018 we have funding for a focus on Vermont Wine.

  • Subscription to the Fresh Insider, with news and resources for building farmer-chef partnerships in Vermont. This e-newsletter is received only by our members; the Fresh Feed is a public, consumer facing communication.

  • Discounts at sponsor businesses - including a 2018 partnership with Localvore

  • Access to the VBSR Marketplace, a facilitated trading platform for business-to-business transactions in Vermont. All VFN members are eligible to receive a free profile on the platform.

  • Voting rights in the Vermont Fresh Network organization, including a chance to vote on recipients of mini-grants in our new VFN Conference Program that sends Vermont food professionals to significant national conferences and gatherings throughout the year.

Qualifications for Becoming a VFN Partner Member

 

Vermont Fresh Network Partner Members include a range of culinary professionals, farmers, food producers, distributors, and cooperatives across Vermont. To learn more about the qualifications for membership and to access an application, please visit our Partner Member page.
