The Great Grape and Bean Tasting
Come out for some fun while helping to support our staple food economy here in Vermont!
Our event opens up at 4pm with live music and light faire available from then until 7 pm.
Around 4:15pm Philip Ackerman-Leist will kick off and frame the event with a talk about his latest book, Rebuilding the Foodshed; How to Create Local, Sustainable, and Secure Food Systems".
Philip's talk will be directly followed by four pairings of heirloom beans and wines that come together like a collection of novellas, painting intimate pictures of disparate parts of our food system and re-teaching us to experience the act of eating with all five senses in a rich cultural context.
During the evening, make sure to check out the Silent Auction table and make an offer on the wonderful contributions from noteworthy local food enterprises and artists.
Cork will be offering a cash wine bar for a chance to enjoy a glass of the wines sampled in the pairings. You'll even be able to take home bottles of the wines and bags of the beans we'll be showcasing, complete with recipe cards so you can recreate the experiences of the night on your own.
Music will ensue and good people will enjoy a good time straight through to 7pm.
