Contributions to the VT Fresh Network
2012 has been a busy year for the Vermont Fresh Network (VFN) and our members, with over 8.6 million dollars of local farm products purchased by our chefs.
As members of the Network, VFN chefs commit to:
• Sourcing 15% of their products locally
• Partnering with at least 4 Vermont Farmers
• Offering VT products from 3 of the 6 USDA food groups, year-round
When more chefs feature Vermont products on their menu, the interest and demand of these products increases, which, in turn, increases the prosperity of Vermont farms. We are proud to be at the center of this virtuous cycle. A key component of this cycle is ensuring that chefs who purchase local products stand above all others. From pizza shops and cafés, to the state’s finest white tablecloth restaurants, VFN helps consumers find the chefs committed to our local food system.
As a membership funded non-profit, VFN drives Vermonters and visitors alike to the doors of Vermont chefs who are working hard to support their neighboring farms. Please help us continue our work by making a gift to the Vermont Fresh Network today!
